In my 6 April 2005 letter to Mr Michael Howard,
then Leader of the Conservative Party, I wrote:
"It fills me with utter disbelief to see what 'the system' is prepared to do to help a rogue landlord build a penthouse flat at the cost of lessees and further increase his financial gains by getting flats cheaply as a result of extortionate service charges. At the end of the day, this is the essence of it"
This was in April 2005. The following is what has happened since.
Overview of ownership
Throughout the site I have captured this slide which includes my estimate (in March 2006) of the total 'potential pay-off' of £7 million (US$12.3 million)
How was this money made?
By stealing - in my non-lawyer opinion - c. £500,000 from Jefferson House's leaseholders:
The construction of the penthouse flat started in October 2004 - See Photo gallery ; Planning applications.
The intention to build this flat was repeatedly denied by Mr Andrew Ladsky's puppets: Ms Joan Hathaway, MRICS, and Mr Barrie Martin, FRICS, of Martin Russell Jones, and Mr Brian Gale. Mr Gale and Mansell Construction Services continued with the lie while the works started - and Mr Gale, once the works were completed - see Major works home page, as well as Martin Russell Jones # 9 , # 12 , # 13 , # 17
'Unhappy' with the fact that, in spite of considerable help from the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal (LVT # 1, # 2 , # 6 , # 7 , # 8) the 7 August 2002 application to the tribunal had not gone Mr Ladsky's way (LVT # 4), having secured as much money as possible from the 29 November 2002 claim in the equally compliant West London County Court, on 2 August 2004, the day that closure was obtained against the last vaillant leaseholder (WLCC # 14 , Lord Falconer # 6), (and two years after the original demand of July 2002) - Mr Barrie Martin, FRICS, announced the appointment of a new contractor, Mansell Construction Services - without going through the legally required consultation procedures.
(There are many more examples that, in Mr Ladsky's books, those of his puppets, as well as aides in the wider supporting infrastructure to the residential leasehold sector - the laws of the land are there to be ignored (see definition of 'crime - criminal' which includes links to various statutes and supporting examples of breaches of these statutes by various parties) - because there is no fear of sanction... and there are 'ways and means' of 'dealing' with the 'little people' who 'dare' to oppose the scams which includes persecuting them, cutting-off support from them, having them under surveillance, etc.).
